2. General information
We process personal data only where permitted by applicable data protection law, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and German data protection law. Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
3. Hosting, server logs and security
When you access our website, technical information may be processed automatically, including IP address, date and time, requested URL, referrer, browser, operating system, device information, response status and similar log data. This processing is necessary to deliver the website, maintain security, prevent abuse and diagnose technical problems. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and, where processing is necessary to provide a requested service or perform a contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
4. Customer accounts and authentication
If you create or use a StartGo account, we process account and authentication data such as your email address, account identifiers, confirmation status, login events and security information. Depending on the sign-in method, authentication may use a password, a one-time code sent by email, or an enabled external identity provider. One-time sign-in codes are generated for authentication and expire after a limited period. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR and our legitimate interest in secure account access under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
5. Email communications
We process your email address and message-related data when sending account confirmations, one-time login codes, service communications or when responding to enquiries. Data is processed to provide the requested service, communicate with you and protect accounts from misuse. Depending on the context, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b), Article 6(1)(c) or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
6. Contact requests
When you contact us or submit a contact form, we process the information you provide, such as your name, email address, telephone number, subject and message, to handle your enquiry and any follow-up questions. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual or pre-contractual enquiries and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for other business communications. Where consent is expressly requested, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR applies.
7. Transport, moving and booking data
When you request, calculate or book a service, we may process pickup and delivery addresses, intermediate stops, requested dates and times, service type, vehicle and helper selections, furniture or cargo details, notes, calculated route information, prices, booking references and status information. We use this data to prepare offers, calculate routes and prices, process bookings, perform contracts and communicate about the job. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR and, where applicable, Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
8. Google Maps Platform / Google Routes
For route calculations and address-related functionality, address data entered for a transport or moving request may be transmitted to Google services. Google may process technical connection data in connection with those requests. We use these services to calculate routes and provide requested booking functionality. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where the service is required for your request and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for efficient route planning. Where legally required for optional Google services, processing is based on consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
9. Cookies and similar storage
We use technically necessary cookies and similar technologies for functions such as authentication, anti-forgery protection, session handling, temporary messages and language preferences. These technologies are required to operate the website securely and provide features you request. Non-essential analytics, advertising or comparable technologies may only be used where a valid legal basis exists and, where required, after your consent.
10. Recipients and processors
Personal data may be disclosed to service providers that support hosting, email delivery, authentication, routing, IT operations, payment processing or other functions necessary to provide our services. We disclose only the data required for the relevant purpose and use contractual safeguards where required by law. Data may also be disclosed to authorities or other recipients where we are legally obliged to do so or where this is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
11. International data transfers
Some service providers may process data outside Germany or the European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred to a third country, we use the transfer mechanisms required by Chapter V GDPR, such as an adequacy decision, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where applicable, or Standard Contractual Clauses together with supplementary safeguards where necessary.
12. Storage periods
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the relevant purpose. Account data is generally retained while the account is active and as required thereafter for legal claims or statutory obligations. Contract, invoice and business records may be retained for statutory commercial and tax retention periods. Security logs and temporary authentication data are retained only as long as necessary for security and technical operation, subject to legal requirements.
13. Your rights
Subject to the legal requirements, you have the right to access your personal data, request rectification or erasure, restrict processing, receive data in a portable format, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority.
14. Right to object
Where we process personal data on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. If personal data is processed for direct marketing, you may object to that processing at any time without giving reasons.
15. Data security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or access. Internet transmission can nevertheless never be guaranteed to be completely secure.
16. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, technical systems or legal requirements change. The version published on this website is the current version.
